April News
Welcome back from Spring Break everyone!! Here is what has been happening in IFC over the last two weeks.
Formal Spring Rush is over, with many chapters gaining a new Spring quarter pledge class.
There is a quarterly risk seminar this wednesday at 11:00 am in Emerald Bay A & B, all risk chairs and social chairs should be in attendance.
Relay For Life is just around the corner, April 24! Sign in sheets will be passed around weeks three and four for the IFC team.
The All-Greek T-Shirt Design Contest is underway, with any designs due week 3. Be sure to send in any T-Shirt designs that you might have for next year's shirts, since the grand prize is a new set of letters!
Finally, IFC is presenting a $150 scholarship towards dues!! You can find the application here. Please bring filled in application to the IFC mailbox found in the Dean of Student's Office in the Student Center.

02/09/2010
There will be a recruitment roundtable Thursday, February 18th, 5pm, in HH214. This is a time for all IFC recruitment chairs to learn some new tricks as well as show off your chapter's rush tactics.
Also, IFC adopted the new Bus Policy as a living document. This is a huge step in increasing the productivity of our events as well as making it easier for parking enforcement, the police, and the University.
IFC will be hosting a team for Relay For Life, April 24-25, in Aldrich Park. More information on this to come.
The IFC President will be hosting a Chapter President's Roundtable Week 9 to talk about effective leadership techniques and styles.

The new Executive Board was installed last Monday on January 25. The newly installed officers visited Chapter meetings to introduce themselves, thank you everyone for your hospitality!
The bus ban has finally been lifted, and the IFC is adopting a new bus policy, which requires Chapters to fill out an event form before an event. The form as well as the new policy can be found here on the website. A vote at the IFC Meeting next Monday will adopt the new policy into IFC procedure.

The new VP Fraternity Relations Chair, John McCowan, was voted into the position on January 11.
There is a scholarship dessert at Doheny Beach A on the 20th.

Thank you to all of the candidates who ran in this year’s election. The new executive board will be transitioned during the first three weeks in the winter quarter before being formally installed on January 25th, 2010.
The open position of Vice President of Fraterntiy Relations will be voted on during the second IFC meeting of the winter quarter. Please submit application by the extended deadline of January 7th by 5pm to the IFC mailbox in the Office of the Dean of Students. Elections will be held at the second IFC meeting of the quarter, January 11, 2010.
